Clerks 2, back together again.

Clerks II

When I went to go see clerks I didn't expect much from it. I was a very big fan of the original clerks and its one of those movies that everyone just used to sit around and laugh at since everyone can identify with being bored and having odd crap happen to you. This was pretty unique at the time too. Unfortunately making a clerks 2 removes the uniqueness from it, as do the other kevin smith movies. After you take that away you start to look at the actual movie and realize it definitely wont make a third.

I did like clerks 2, but really the reason I liked it was the fact that it was a continuation of clerks 1 that I loved so much. If you look at it independently of its connection with clerks 1, then really you just have bad acting and a story thats about as good as the last one, with no perks. The acting was pretty much horrible except for the girl that played the moobys manager. The movie was really only a reason to get everyone back together.

The plot of this movie moves on from a mid 20s group of guys being bored in their daily lives and questioning their future in clerks 1, to a low 30s group of guys being bored in their daily lives and questioning their future in clerks 2. The humor is new, and is still entertaining, but the delivery is horrible.

The basics of the story is that the quick stop burns down so they move their antics to Moobys a fast food resteraunt. A pregnancy happens, some man on mule action happens, and some marriage stuff happens.

Maybe I'll put a better review together at some point, but really the only thing this movie has going for it is the chance to get everyone back together. It was definitely a must see, but due to its legacy not its content.
